The Project

Kevin Kliza worked in the Ontario carpet and upholstery cleaning industry for years.  After relocating to Canmore, he wanted to bring his expertise, top-of-the-line equipment, and eco-friendly solutions to Western Alberta. He enlisted Becca Jules & Co., which just so happens to be founded by his wife, Becca, to help him build his business from the ground up. 

Becca Jules & Co. provided a comprehensive marketing and branding solution. The goal? To create a standout digital presence and turn Peak Steam into a recognizable, trusted brand in the community known for its reliable service and remarkable results. 

The Challenge

Launching a business from scratch is no small feat. Peak Steam faced several challenges:

  1. New in Town: When starting a new business on the other side of the country, the most obvious hurdle is that no one knows who you are yet. Peak Steam needed an authentic brand identity that reflected professionalism, innovation, and reliability. 

  2. Existing Competitors: The market area was populated with established cleaning companies. Competing against businesses with decades of brand recognition meant it was critical to clearly communicate what makes Peak Steam different. 

  3. No Digital Presence: With no website, social media presence, or local search visibility, Peak Steam required a complete digital setup to attract and engage customers.

Kevin wanted a hands-off process, so we handled the research, competitive analysis, copywriting, branding, creative, and web development. He trusted we could lead the team and hit the ground running. Speed to market was the goal.

SEO Keyword Research 

We researched high-value local keywords to see what Peak Steam’s audience was searching for. To get the most bang for our buck, we prioritized the keywords with the ideal balance of relevance, search volume, and competition. 

Messaging Foundation & Value Propositions 

This included:

  • Outlining the brand tone and who we are 

  • Brand values emphasizing innovation, eco-friendliness, and reliability

  • How we engage with the Bow Valley and contribute to its growth 

Branding
We landed on “sexy steam meets the mountains.” The result is a sleek, high-end brand identity that aligns with Kevin’s vision and the Bow Valley landscape. 

This included:

  • A professional yet approachable brand 

  • An impactful logo mark that looks subtle but is imbued with hidden meaning (the three points are symbolic of the Three Sisters mountains in Canmore).

  • Brand values emphasizing innovation, eco-friendliness, and reliability

  • A rich but minimalist colour palette inspired by the natural beauty of the Canadian Rockies

Google Analytics and Search Console Setup
We set up Google Analytics and Search Console to track and analyze performance.  These tools provide valuable insights into website traffic, keyword rankings, and user behaviour. Instead of throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks, Peak Steam can make data-driven decisions for better ROI on its marketing spend. 

Google My Business Setup
We created and optimized a Google My Business profile to boost Peak Steam’s local SEO and attract customers searching for residential and commercial carpet and upholstery cleaning services in the area.

Social Media Templates and Strategy

With over a decade of marketing experience, we’ve seen how the pressure to constantly generate new post ideas can leave small business owners feeling stuck.
